Sam Richardson; Producer/Writer and Director/Editor of the Hilarious and Heart-Wrenching

Sam in sam's words written in the third person

Sam took his ADHD diagnosis seriously and crafted himself into a multi-hyphenate. Daily on-campus robberies weren’t the only highlight of attending San Jose State, they also gave all students access to the Adobe Suite. Sam took full advantage of this freebee and started his journey as an editor becoming fluent in Premiere Pro. His affinity for essays blossomed into a nasty screenplay habit in those university days as well. Since then he’s gone on to write full scripts for features, shorts, music videos, and ads as well as sunk his canines into the world of treatment writing.

Sam took his talents for imagining nightmare scenarios to the world of production. A perfect fit. By anticipating problems from conceptualization to final delivery he’s ensured his projects run smoothly(enough). He’s confronted and learned from a wide variety of production problems that can arise on shoot day because he’s worked in a number of mediums. On this site, you’ll see his short films. music videos, and ads. His first piece of branded content received a little over 200k Instagram impressions in its first week.

While he received his formal education from San Jose State’s widely renowned advertising program, his secondary education came from mainlining the glowing plasma of inspiration. He read Hemingway in Moscow, Marber in London, and directed Spanish language music videos in Melbourne. A careful student of the human condition, he’s found the humor in the worst aspects of it. When in the director’s chair(he only sits at the end of the day when he’s very tired) he focuses on the funny in the horrible. An adamant practitioner of Shagen Frued or whatever that German word is.

And he’d love to chat with you, dear reader.
